The weird thing about Time is it never does what you want; it either seems to go by too fast or too slow. I don't know what I want from Time right now since I want to savor my time at home but also am excited for my months abroad. In a week, I have to speak Spanish, meet a lot of new people, and learn a bunch of cultural norms, so I think getting as much mental preparation, at least for me, is best. Entonces... ¡Tiempo, más despacio, por favor!
With my attempts to control Time, I will keep you posted on my adventures and travels, my language mistakes, and all of the wonderful food I get to eat and places I get to see.
Here is a quick overview of my semester in Granada, Spain:
I leave the U.S. in the afternoon on the 24th and arrive in Spain in the afternoon on the 25th. I am living with a host family and have a roommate, who is in my program. I will be taking classes through IES, which consist of a grammar class and 4 other cultural classes. My classes will finish, at the latest, May 30th, so I will head home around then, hopefully knowing a great deal of Spanish! Wish me luck!
viel Glueck!
